A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for Sanilac, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair Counties. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the rest of southeastern lower Michigan. Both alerts are in effect from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday through 7:00 a.m. Thursday.
Quiet weather continues Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Clouds will gradually increase as temperatures fall into the upper teens Wednesday morning. Cloudy skies continue through the lunch hour as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 20s.
The weather conditions deteriorate Wednesday afternoon as snow showers begin after 1 p.m. Snow will ramp up quickly, with the heaviest snow between 3-9 p.m. Wednesday evening. After 9 p.m. snow showers will continue into early Thursday morning, ending around 4 a.m. Snowfall totals will be heaviest near Lake Huron, with some lake enhancement of the snow showers expected. Lighter amounts are expected south of Detroit, with some sleet and freezing rain still potentially mixing in.

Some light snow showers will linger into Thursday with little to no accumulation expected. Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 20s. High pressure builds in Friday bringing partly sunny skies. Temperatures will be chilly with temperatures in the single digits in the morning and in the mid to upper 20s by the afternoon.
Another winter storm moves in Saturday and bring snow through Sunday. More than a couple inches of snow is expected and could impact weekend travel.
