Metro Detroit Weather: Hot & humid with rounds of storms

Rounds of thunderstorms, hot temperatures, and humid conditions expected through Tuesday. Thunderstorms are likely after 1 a.m. Monday and will continue through mid morning. A few of these storms could be strong to severe with heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds being the main threats. After the rain moves out, we'll transition to partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s, to near 90°.

Another round of thunderstorms is expected early Tuesday morning, mainly just after midnight. These storms have the potential to be strong to severe as they move through. Heavy rain, hail,a nd damaging winds will be the main threats. A few more showers and thunderstorms are possible through the evening as a cold front pushes through.

Cooler and drier weather moves in Wednesday as high pressure builds across the Great Lakes. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s through next weekend.

Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the low 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
Monday: Showers and thunderstorms early, then partly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s, near 90°. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms. A few could be severe early. Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: W 10-20 mph.
