Metro Detroit Weather: Dangerous wind chills through Wednesday

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from until 12 p.m. Wednesday. Wind chills will be -10° to -20° Tuesday morning and -15° to -25° Wednesday morning.

Temps fall to near 0° late tonight/Tuesday morning and then climb to near 7° by the afternoon. The coldest temperatures happen Tuesday night/Wednesday morning with lows near -5°. Stronger southerly winds will help highs climb into the mid teens Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will continue to climb back into the 20s Thursday and Friday, and to near freezing (32°) by next weekend.

Lake effect snow showers continue Monday night and into Tuesday morning. Little to no accumulation is expected. Skies will become partly sunny by Tuesday afternoon. Clouds increase Wednesday ahead of our next chance for light snow Thursday morning.

Metro Detroit will have another chance for snow Saturday evening, otherwise we'll keep it partly sunny to mostly cloudy.

Tonight: Slight snow chance with lows near 0°. Wind chills: -10° to -20°. Winds: WSW 10-20 mph.

Tuesday: Light snow showers early, then partly sunny. Highs near 7°. Wind chills: -5° to -15°. Winds: W 10-20 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with lows near -5°. Wind chills: -15° to -25°. Winds: SSW 10-15 mph.

Wednesday: Increasing clouds with highs in the mid teens. Wind chills: 0° to -10°. Winds: SSW 15-25 mph.
