Metro Detroit Weather: Warmer start to the week, messy mix midweek

Warmer air is moving into Metro Detroit. With the Sunday snowfall and rising temperatures, fog and dense fog are expected overnight. Temperatures will continue to warm overnight, into the mid 30s by daybreak.

Rain and snow will move along a stationary front, located just to our north, Monday. Rain showers are likely north of I-69, while the rest of us will keep it cloudy with some mist possible. Highs peak in the low to mid 40s.

Tuesday will be dry with partly sunny skies and highs near 30°.

Another storm arrives Wednesday night and continues into Thursday. Showers will begin as snow Wednesday and eventually transition to sleet and even rain by Thursday. Temperatures will peak near freezing Wednesday and climb back to near 40° Thursday.

Tonight: Cloudy with areas of fog. Temps rising into the mid 30s. Winds: S 5 mph.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a chance for a rain, especially north of Detroit. Highs in the low to mid 40s. Winds: S/NW 5-15 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with highs near 30°. Winds: NW 5-10 mph.
