You'll want to add these Pillsbury 'Elf' sugar cookies to your holiday shopping list

Pillsbury releases 'Elf'-themed sugar cookies

If you’ve never had Pillsbury ready-to-bake shape sugar cookies, you are seriously missing out. The small cookies change with the seasons, featuring designs for holidays like Easter and Christmas. There are even some non-holiday shapes on offer for pop culture touchstones like “Trolls” and “Scooby Doo.”

I tend to make Pillsbury cookies for every holiday event because not only have I never found someone who didn’t like them, but they look like I put in way more effort than I actually did. And now, the brand is making it possible to impress my party guests even more. Because while they already have Christmas trees, snowmen and reindeer, Pillsbury is adding a new cookie to the lineup this holiday season — and this one will fill even the cotton-headed ninny-muggins with Christmas cheer.

Helping to spread that Christmas cheer this year is none other than Buddy the Elf, the star of the film “Elf.” Starring Will Ferrell, the film is about a man raised as an elf at the North Pole who then goes to the United States in search of his true identity. The new sugar cookies will feature his iconic green-and-yellow-striped hat.

While they’re listed on Target’s website, they’re not yet available for purchase online through the retailer.

But you can get them on the Pillsbury website

And while there’s a chance they’re already out in some stores, you’re likelier to find them the closer it gets to Christmas. One box will get you 24 cookies, which is more than enough to cram into the VCR.

These cookies are going to make a great addition to your holiday parties. And it looks like the new editions are arriving just in time for the film’s 15th anniversary.

Yup. You read that right. We first met Buddy all the way back in 2003! (And I thought 25 years of “Hocus Pocus” had made feel old.)

Will you be picking up some Buddy the Elf cookies this holiday season?
