Duane Chapman, better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter thanks to his long-running reality show by the same name, shared some great news during a two-hour special, “Dog & Beth: The Fight of Their Lives,” which aired on A&E on Nov. 27. Diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer earlier this year, Dog’s wife, Beth, has now been declared cancer-free by her doctors.

“Hello, attention. No cancer. There is a God. This could be a miracle. This could be a healing,” Dog said on camera, letting his family know about Beth’s updated prognosis. “[The doctor] said if I wasn’t such a good husband it wouldn’t have worked out that great. Oh, I can breathe. Beth Chapman, you did it.”

The special followed the family’s emotional journey through Beth’s battle with cancer, beginning with her diagnosis and following her through surgery and a difficult recovery.

Earlier this month, Dog spoke out about his devotion to his wife and his intention to stand by her through this difficult time. This is what he told People:

“When we made a pledge many years ago. I said I’d love her in sickness and in health until death do us part. And that truth has really, really come alive in my mind. And I have to stand on that; I gave her an oath that I would love her forever. And thank God it’s not till death do us part at this point.”

For her part, Beth is grateful for her recovery and is using the family’s platform to raise awareness about the importance of catching the disease in its early stages.

“Early detection is key. I probably had the scratchy throat for a year. When something feels wrong, you need to get it checked immediately,” Beth said. “That’s the lesson here. Also, everyone needs to pay attention to what you put in your body. Your diet is so important.”

We’re so glad the Chapmans received this wonderful news, and we wish Beth all the best on her road to recovery!
