Former Detroit city councilwoman Sharon McPhail was fired from her post as the chief administrative officer of a Detroit charter school.

Bay Mills Community College, which controls Detroit Community Schools, let McPhail go because of an ongoing battle over her superintendent credentials which has resulted in the school not being able to get financing.

A conservator has been brought in to bring the school into compliance with state law.

However, McPhail said Bay Mills had no authority to fire her and is now threatening legal action.
