River Rouge Police are looking for anyone who may have answers on why a baby girl was abandoned outside a home Sunday morning.
Police say the mother must have given birth within an hour of dropping off the infant in front of an adult foster care home on Alexander Street.
We're told the umbilical cord and placenta were still attached to the baby.
She was left wrapped in a blue blanket with cars on it.
The woman who found the child around 7:45 am Sunday tells us, "All I seen is the cord, and the baby, and I just called 911. I just hurried up and called. All I seen was the baby, and called 911."
The woman did not want to be identified, but says the girl was found near some flowers in front of the home on Alexander Street near Catherine Street.
Police say the girl is healthy, eating, and doing well at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn.
The Good Samaritan went on to say, "Couldn't believe it. I never seen anything like it."
Neighbors gave us home surveillance video, saying it shows the mother walking away. The person looks hesitant, gazing back, before eventually leaving the scene.
The video never shows the mother getting inside a car.
