Students at Oakland University are being warned after reports of a peeping Tom in the women's bathroom.
"Oakland University police have already posted the sign all over the residential halls saying, 'Safety alert, peeping Tom incidents reported.' They're wanting students to be on the lookout," said OU student Emily Alton.
Students are on edge after receiving a letter about the peeping Tom.
On Monday and Tuesday, three students reported the same man in the Hill House and Van Wagoner House, both of which are co-ed dorms with community showers.
Brittany Hollis, a student who lives in the dorms, said it's hard to see out of the shower.
"It's pretty vulnerable, because once you're in the shower you can't really see the people outside of the shower and anybody can just walk in there, so you don't really know who's in their with you," she said.
In two reports, the peeping Tom put his cell phone over the shower rod. Police say the victims are afraid.
"This is concerning to members of our community and we're treating this as an active ongoing investigation," said Mark Gordon, OU's chief of police.
Police have stepped up patrols and say students should have a friend watching outside the shower.
"It's kind of uncomfortable and makes me feel a little less safe on campus, so I just hope that they're able to get it figured out," Alton said.
