Detroit police are investigating after a U-Haul truck was used to smash into a Detroit pharmacy early Wednesday morning.

According to police, it happened at the Southwest Discount Pharmacy in the 5800 block of Vernor, not far from Junction in southwest Detroit.

Police say they used the U-Haul to smash in the front door, but it actually smashed in the entire front wall of the pharmacy.

The owner believes the damage will add up to about $60,000 and he will be closed indefinitely while they fix it.

He says it's not the first time it has happened. A couple years ago, someone broke into a bank nearby and then tried to use the shared wall to break in the bank.

We're told the thieves didn't take anything of significant value.
