Lisa Starkey read off disturbing text messages she received Thursday night.

They came from her 14-year-old daughter's phone. The teen, Makalia Mitchell, has been missing since July 18, when she went to summer school at Ben Carson in Detroit and never returned home.

This was the first sign of any communication from her. But any joy, was quickly switched to all out fear.

Starkey asked, "How can I help? How can I get someone to help me to help her?"

These new text messages make all sorts of claims, from she took an Uber, to she's being held against her will and forced to have sex, to claiming she's fine and don't look for her.

Starkey will never give up her hunt to track down her daughter, saying this is not like her to do this.

Police are aware of this missing teen case, and the family says they also advised investigators of these new text messages.

They indicate Mitchell could be in the Ypsilanti area. If you have information on her whereabouts, call Detroit Police.
