- Shooting that killed Detroit rappers was result of ongoing feud, police say
- Well-known Detroit rappers shot and killed on I-94
As Michigan State Police continue to investigate the double murder, a grieving family is speaking out for the first time and fighting back tears.
At 27 years old, Detroit rapper Ramell Campbell – also know as "Mell" - was known for winning rap battles like one at Detroit’s 107.5 F.M.
But Mell's life was about more than music. He loved his family more than anything.
Early Sunday morning, Mell and his friend, Dominique Brown, were gunned down inside a vehicle on I-94 near Livernois.
Police say roughly 30 shots were fired and they now believe an ongoing feud was to blame. Something Mell's family and friends are still questioning.
Mell's ex-girlfriend, pregnant with his twins, is pleading for justice and hoping for an end to gun violence.
Police are still asking for the public's help. So far, there’s no word on any suspects.
