The Detroit Public Schools Community District School Board is taking steps to protect the district's drinking water after the board passed a resolution Monday night that ensures water will be tested regularly.
The district says that all water already tested by the health department has passed, but some pictures have people questioning whether or not that's true.
Signs in the sink of one school say "do not drink," and a board member says he was alarmed and concerned that some of Detroit schools' water might be contaminated.
That came after he heard students were told to bring bottled water because the pipes were being updated.
In other cases, water tanks or bulk water were brought to the school during the maintenance to make sure water lines are clean.
What the resolution now ensures is a regular test of the water, something that wasn't required before last night.
