Detroit police are investigating after a mother and her 2-year-old daughter were shot early Tuesday morning on the city's east side.
According to police, it happened around 1:45 a.m. in the 15000 block of Tacoma, which is near State Fair and Gratiot.
Police say the mother and her daughter were riding with the mom's boyfriend when they pulled into a driveway. That's when someone drove by and opened fire.
The baby girl was grazed in the neck while the mother was shot in the neck and rib areas. Both are in temporary serious condition and expected to survive.
There were at least 10 shots fired, and the boyfriend was arrested. He was arrested on unrelated charges on an outstanding warrant.
