A Detroit man broke his legs after he jumped from a window to escape a house fire on the city's west side early Friday morning.
According to police, it happened on America St., near Livernois and Joy around 3:45 a.m. It was originally reported that the man broke both his heel.
A witness tells 7 Action News he heard glass breaking and a dog barking, and looked out his window to see his 45-year-old neighbor on the ground with no clothes on.
The witness helped the man to safety.
Detroit fire crews arrived and put out the fire.
Arson investigators are on the way to investigate a possible firebombing.
