Greyhound, in partnership with the National Runaway Safeline, has been helping runaways get home safe with free bus tickets since 1995.

In that time, NRS says the Home Free Program has helped more than 16,000 runaways.

To be eligible for the program, the runaway must:

  • Call the NRS hotline at 1-800-RUNAWAY or 1-800-786-2929
  • Be between the ages of 12 and 21
  • Be named on a runaway report
  • Be willing to reunite with their family

The program can only be used on twice by the same person. If the child is under the age of 15, Greyhound also offers a free ticket to their parent or legal guardian.
