INDIANAPOLIS — Two days after reopening, a popular east side Asian restaurant is closing their doors for good after they say they've experienced "violent incidents."

A social media post from the restaurant Friday night said it immediately shut down because owner Bungon 'Mama' Nettles has "had enough" after "fighting and arguing each and every day."

Fast Wok showed signs of damage Saturday morning, most notably broken glass on the building's front door.

The front door of Fast Wok in Indianapolis is broken just days after it reopened.

The restaurant only reopened on Wednesday, two years after Mama Nettles closed the kitchen after suffering two strokes.

Dozens of people who did not hear about the closure stopped by the restaurant Saturday, only to leave hungry and disappointed.

"I said, 'where are the people?'" said Susan Fall, who hoped to try the restaurant for the first time. "When I walked up to the door, I found out it was closed."

"Other people can't enjoy things because of the ignorance out here in these streets," said Alicia Solomon, another first-time visitor to Fast Wok. "It's just horrible. It's already not safe, now we can't even go eat. It's just crazy."

Both Fall and Solomon are upset with whomever in the crowd scared Nettles back into retirement.

"Stop. Just stop it so everyone can enjoy life," Fall said. "Life is too short."

"Hopefully it gets back open," Solomon said. "You all need to get better in Indianapolis, stop being so violent out here."

Fast Wok reiterated through the comments on its social media post that Mama Nettles is adamant about closing the restaurant.

Fast Wok had hoped to serve free food on Thanksgiving upon its return, as evidenced by signs throughout the restaurant on its reopening day.

However, Fast Wok announced in another social media post Saturday that the free Thanksgiving meal is canceled. The restaurant claimed Mama Nettles "no longer feels safe for her customers, staff and family."

When WRTV asked Fast Wok to explain what exactly happened at the restaurant, they said they had no further comment.
