WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two men have died after a shooting at a home in Warren on Friday evening.
Warren police say the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Michael Avenue.
According to police, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police believe the victims were meeting with a group of people they knew when someone started shooting. The suspects reportedly drove away from the scene.
Warren police say this is a very active investigation.
7 News Detroit reporter Tiarra Braddock spoke with residents who live near the house where the shooting happened.
“Still panicked, I didn’t sleep at all last night, it bothered me," said Lydia Kearns of Warren.
Kearns lives next door to the house where the shooting occurred.
One of the bullets from the shooting went through her bedroom window.
“I was standing right here in front of the TV and all of a sudden I heard a little bit of glass and there it was," said Kearns.
Thankfully, Kearns was not hit by the stray bullet.
Jim Day, Kearns' neighbor, says things like this typically don't happen in the neighborhood.
“It’s a beautiful neighborhood, everybody looks out for each other. People walk their dogs you know, the kids play out here… you couldn’t ask for a better neighborhood," said Day.
