Now that Christmas is in the books, it's time to look ahead to the new year.

With that comes another party to ring in 2020.

With less than a week to plan, we went to the couple who calls themselves “America's cheapest family” for tips on how you can save.

Steve and Annette Economides say alcohol is a big place to save.

“One of the things you can do to save money on your holiday parties is to either to not have alcoholic beverages at all, but I don't know if that would tick off your guests — it depends on who your guests are, or limit your alcoholic consumption to beer or wine,” Annette says.

“Or make a punch and just kind of skimp on the alcohol, but put some in,” Steve adds.

If you're planning on having food, have guests bring some. Don't put all of the stress of feeding everyone on yourself.

Another money savings outlet, Money Talks News, says don't forget about dollar stores.

It says those are great places to get cheap decorations, along with plates and glasses.
